Indonesia Singapore Cross Border Electricity
For one of the final assignments in the #NZELTO program, we were tasked with giving a 10-minute presentation on an issue from our home country or the ASEAN region and offering an analysis along with proposed solutions. When I received the task, I immediately thought of the cross-border electricity program between Indonesia and Singapore. Drawing from information available online, both from Indonesian and Singaporean sources, as well as third-party perspectives, I crafted my study by outlining the background and timeline of the project.
The perspective I chose to highlight was how Indonesia could maximize its benefits from this initiative. As part of my analysis, I conducted a simple SWOT analysis and identified six potential policy options that Indonesia could pursue to enhance the project’s advantages. While the study was simple-straightforward, I was pleased to share it with the ELTO scholars in the TX class, sparking a lively discussion with Nguyá»…n Quang Thắng , Panha Hok and other colleagues who are also involved in the power sector and engaged with the ASEAN Power Grid.
See you again TX friends 👋
