 It’s truly rewarding to see a policy we contributed to making a positive impact in the field. Two weeks ago, during a monitoring and evaluation visit to PLN UP3 Solo regarding the implementation of Ministerial Regulation of ESDM No. 2 of 2024 on Rooftop Solar PV, we received several constructive insights. PLN UP3 Solo noted that the regulation has made it easier for them to evaluate rooftop solar PV applications from customers. The framework and requirements are considered clear, streamlining the administrative process.

Additionally, customers and EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) also expressed their appreciation for this regulation. They found the application scheme to be supportive of rooftop solar PV development. However, they also highlighted some challenges, particularly the six-month deadline to obtain the Certificate of Operation Worthiness (SLO) after approval. Issues such as procurement processes and weather factors often hinder the ability to meet this timeframe.

These insights are valuable for refining policy implementation and addressing existing challenges. With collaboration and support from all stakeholders, I am optimistic that rooftop solar PV in Indonesia will grow even faster. This step not only accelerates the renewable energy transition but also brings us closer to achieving sustainable energy targets.
